HASfit is going through a few awesome changes right now and we’re excited because there is so much more on the horizon. To celebrate a number of accomplishments as well as a our Valentine’s Day, we took off to the Texas Hill Country for a couple of nights. If you ever find yourself in central Texas, the Hill Country is a beautiful place to visit and there are wineries here to boot! If you’re into that kind of thing of course.

We took off on Monday which happened to be my off day from workouts and set off for the 1:30 hour drive to Wimberley, TX to check into our cottage. I’d run 6 miles the day before and planned on enjoying every minute of rest! We knew our cottage would have a kitchen stocked with all the necessary tools to cook so we packed a few groceries and made a small grocery run once we arrived in town. I love going to places that offer a kitchen or kitchenette because it allows me to control the menu! We drink a TON of water so we made sure to grab a 24 pack of bottled water to keep us hydrated.

The place was so pretty and offered the most stunning views from every room.

The view from the porch!

This swing summed up what my plans were for our “weekend” away.

I didn’t get a pic but our dinner the first night which consisted of grass-fed beef burgers on the grill and sweet potato fries. Look who was busted in the kitchen eating in between meals…typical.

The next day, I made egg white tacos on a brown rice tortilla (Food For Life is my favorite brand) with lean turkey sausage and fat free cheese. It was enough to get me through my body weight workout. Don’t you just love it when people text you and disturb your workout especially when they’re in the same room as you?

And then you find out they’re snapping sneak pics of you to top it off, yeah me too, it’s my favorite. <— Insert sarcasm.

Proof that I really do do HASfit workouts! Notice the IPhone on the coffee table. 🙂

Once I finished up mine, I checked on Kozak do see how his workout was fairing since he decided to sprint the ridiculous driveway 20 times. This driveway was no joke!

I mean, if this isn’t the look of misery, I’m not sure what is.

Anyhow, after our workouts, we enjoyed a light lunch before heading out to the wineries. Lunch was a piece of millet-chia bread, greens, free range chicken topped with more fat free cheese, fruit, and a small handful of hummus chips. At least this was my portion size, you can double this size for Coach.

We visited three wineries in the area. Wimberley Valley, Duchman Family Winery, and Driftwood Estate Winery which is the exact place we exchanged vows just a few short months ago. We’re not big on sweet wines or white wines but tend to enjoy the reds such as Cabernets, Merlots, and Zinfindels. Someone is clearly in a good mood…

After an afternoon of wine tasting, we headed to dinner at a cute place back in Wimberley called Kate’s place and I had the cutest date.

The food was fresh and really good! I kept it veggie and ordered the Quinoa Blackbean Burger topped with chipotle aioili and roasted brussel sprouts. I’ve been a little carb crazy lately and only ate the bottom bun.

We finished off our evening with more wine and a few new releases from a RedBox. Relaxation is wonderful and much needed from time to time in order to maintain some work life balance.

We like to refer to our mini vacay as “the calm before the storm” because as I previously mentioned, change is brewing and exciting things will be happening. We can’t wait to share it all with you, so stay tuned….. 🙂

1.) How do you stay active on your getaways/vacation?

2.) What kind of wine do you like to drink?
