The weekend is here and Coach and I spent our Friday night babysitting my two nephews while my sister and BIL had a date night. My nephews are hilarious and oh so different. I love that I’m starting to have a little bit of a healthy eating impact on their lives because my oldest nephew made it a point to show me the healthy snacks he picked out at their last grocery trip.
Organic raisins and fruit packed in 100% fruit juice. Kids are so aware of everything you do, the more you demonstrate a healthy lifestyle and staying active, they’ll want to show you that they can do it too. It’s a great feeling.
We then walked to the elementary school and hit the playground for nearly an hour and a half where we ran drills with the boys, did pulls-ups, walked the balance beam, hit the swings, and slid down the slides. The slides these days are crazy! I burned my elbow on the way down one of them, I promise I felt like I was going 100 mph. We need to bring back the old metal slides, those are much safer. 🙂 Coach and my nephews even played dinosaurs and gave me a few roars for the camera.
Not sure what the little one was doing here….
We were out there so long but we all had a great night. I love this time of year when it actually starts to feel a little cool outside, it makes it easier to enjoy being out. I hope you all have an active weekend with your family and eat well! On the agenda tomorrow, 7 mile run, new recipe video shoot, and heading to my hometown of Houston to spend the weekend with family and let us not forget the first weekend of football, GO TEXANS!
Last pic of my nephews and me…notice the little one was way too tired to stand therefore aunt Claudia carried him the whole way home. 🙂
